Kiss 100’s Caroline Mutoko tells it LIKE it is

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 – Winning and losing is part of the game, we have a history which has stood the test of time, just like Manchester United lost last season it’s just a setback. 

Kiss 100 breakfast show host Caroline Mutoko has a rather different opinion and here is her message to Olympians via her Facebook page. 

“I can't sleep; I'm officially seething with anger at our poor performance at the Olympics. What I want to know is: 

1. why on earth did Kenya's selections take place in Oregon? Every Olympics we see a new crop of potential stars who go on and do well. But these new stars, by definition, cannot afford to go to Oregon for trials, so obviously the old monied guards are selected and, apparently in Kiprop's case (1500m), despite carrying an injury!

2. What influence do agents have with our officials? Why are our athletes competing up to the last minute in all manner of competitions, serious and ridiculous, and burning themselves out before major global events

3. Why are these old fogeys still running AK and the NOC?

4. In short: why are we allowing mediocrity, sloth, the love of the easy buck and various other nefarious impulses and qualities to ruin our most impressive global brand?

As you can tell, I am furious, embarrassed, maddened by this acceptance of mediocrity!!!!
