KIMUNYA brags and refuses to APOLOGISE

Wednesday August 8, 2012 - Transport Minister Amos Muhinga Kimunya has said he will not apologise over his role in the disappearance of Sh 1.8 billion in De La Rue corruption scandal.

Addressing a press in Mombasa during the 3rd African Governance Leadership and Management convention on Tuesday, chest thumping Kimunya said he is ready to be sacrificed for what he termed as protecting Kenyans’ jobs.

Kimunya who is also the Kipipiri lawmaker said his actions saved the country close to Sh 3 billion in the whole tendering process.

“The county saved Sh 3 billion and the Central Bank will tell people on this. I have no apologies to make for protecting Kenyan jobs,” he said.

Kimunya and Central Bank governor Prof Njuguna Ndungu were last week declared unfit to hold office by the Parliamentary public Accounts (PAC) chaired by Ikolomani MP Bonny Khalwale.
