  • Henry Kosgey has told four Kenyans facing charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) to avoid chest thumbing
  • Mr Kosgey says his silence at the ICC and the refusal by his lawyers to summon witnesses played a big role for him to win the case
Industrialization Minister Henry Kosgey has told four Kenyans facing charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) over the 2008 post election violence to avoid chest thumping in order to be cleared.
“Be humble and avoid chest thumping and seek best strategies on how to win the case so that you would be cleared like me,” he said. Read (Kosgey: My ICC nightmare)
Mr Kosgey said his team of 14 lawyers both local and at the ICC worked on a “Strategic Plan” that made him win all cases, which had threatened to end his 30 year political career.
Mr Kosgey said his lawyers set up a Secretariat in Nairobi where all cases were reviewed.
“I had a team of eight lawyers in ICC who reported to Mr George Oralo. Another team of six lawyers worked with my son, Allan, who is also a lawyer. The team perused every piece of evidence before relaying it to the Hague based team," he said.
Mr Kosgey said his silence at the ICC and the refusal by his lawyers to summon witnesses played a big role for him to win the case.
PM Odinga's running mate
Meanwhile, over 80 Nandi County leaders have endorsed Mr Kosgey as a suitable running mate for Prime Minister Raila Odinga in the forthcoming General Election.
Nandi County ODM Chairman Mr Jacob Keino said Mr Kosgey's proven leadership qualities as well as being a long serving MP since the regime of retired President Daniel Moi makes him a suitable running mate for PM Odinga.

“Rift Valley will continue to support the ODM Party and PM Odinga if Kosgey becomes his running mate because he relates well with all communities and leaders,” said Keino.
