Local celebrities will be performing today at the official launch of the 'I am Kenyan' initiative in Nairobi. They include Juliani, Camp Mulla, Eko Dyda, Hellen Mtawali, Holy Dave, VBO and Talanta Africa.
The concert, which will be held at the Uhuru Park grounds, will include a public city march in the morning, the reading of the 'I am Kenyan' pledge followed by a family-friendly Kenyan-themed concert in the afternoon.
The objective of the morning march is to gather Kenyans, young and old alike and dressed in the colours of the flag, to march around the CBD holding placards and posters bearing the phrase 'I am Kenyan' in a show of solidarity that they are ready to stand up for peace and reaffirming their Kenyan identity. After the reading of the pledge, the crowds will be entertained by the artistes. What better way to celebrate our identity as Kenyans than through a medium that unites us all?
