Maina Njenga on Sunday claimed that all politicians from Mount Kenya region had at one point enlisted the help from the Mungiki for political survival.
According to the former Mungiki leader-now-turned-preacher, politicians are to blame for the actions of Mungiki, saying they have betrayed the youth and failed to provide good leadership.
“All these politicians from Central have engaged with Mungiki and it is time we told the truth.
“It is very unfair for these politicians to now denounce these youth as Mungiki,” Mr Njenga said at Hope International Church in Garden Estate, Nairobi, where he is the Bishop.
Mr Njenga said they another Limuru prayer rally would take place this Wednesday where he will pray for peace throughout the country.
Last month, a similar rally dubbed Limuru 2B turned chaotic after police turned away the more than 2,000 youths who had turned up. (SEE IN PICTURES: Protest over Gema meet)
But Mr Njenga blamed his rivals from the Mount Kenya region whom he accused of plotting to disrupt the rally.
“ The last time we organised a rally in Limuru, you saw what they did. They have taken the rivalry right into this church and you all know what happened,” he said.

He said preparations and logistics for the rally are in top gear and that MPs Gitobu Imanyara (Imenti Central) and Mithika Linturi (Igembe North) have confirmed they will attend.
Mr Njenga accused Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri of being used to spread propaganda against him and told the Public Works assistant minister to mind his own business.
“Mr Kiunjuri is being used by some people to spread propaganda against me but I want to tell him to concentrate on his own affairs.
“Let nobody add to my worries because I already have enough,” Mr Njenga who commands a near fanatic following from members of his church said to cheers from the faithful.
He accused the minister of having alleged that Mungiki has reverted to its criminal activities, utterances that he said could stoke violent reactions from the youth.
