What happened to the investigations into the Tokyo scandal? We are told that the Kenyan government requested the Japan government to provide assistance in investigating the issue and they agreed and even facilitated officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission. A report was made and was sent to the Attorney General's chambers for onward transmission to the relevant government ministries. But since then nothing has been heard from the office that is now being held by the good old professor Githu Muigai!

That Makadara MP Gideon Mbuvi alias Sonko does things his way is a habit we have seen for some time now. Yesterday he caused a stir in Parliament when he tore a notice that bars MPS from entering the restaurant casually dressed. Wearing his gold chains and cap, the Makadara legislator walked straight to the lounge where he found the notice that said that men should dress in suits and jackets, shirts, ties, socks and shoes. He tore it up and as he ranted that the demand rule is colonial and that he is not about to observe it since "I was not elected in a tie".

Trouble seems to be the second name of a self-styled spokesman to one of the presidential aspirants. We are told that on Sunday night after TNA's launch, he was caught up in an ugly fracas that saw him thoroughly beaten up by an MP from Central. We hear the man drank himself silly and abused patrons at a city pub until he was stopped by the MP's fists. Later the bouncers also joined in with blows and kicks as they frog-matched the man out of the pub.

A senior Ministry of Foreign Affairs official is said to have impregnated six ladies working under him and instigated their transfers. Bull of Foreign Affairs, as he is well known among staff members, has become so notorious that his latest victim is the daughter of a well known politician from Rift Valley. The girl is yet to inform her father. The officer, though worried that he may be fired when her father finds out, has continued to visit the girl and five others and promises all of them that he will marry them!
