The season of tribal alliances is on and this time, it is the turn of Internal Security minister George Saitoti to host one. Saitoti who wants to run for presidency on a PNU ticket has convened a meeting of Maa community leaders tomorrow as he seeks to consolidate his base ahead of the general election. The meeting comes just days after separate meetings of Gema and Kamatusa tribal alliances that were called to find a common ground to defeat the post-election violence cases against the Ocampo Four- Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, Eldoret North MP William Ruto, former Public Service head Francis Muthaura and radio journalist Joshua Sang- at The Hague.
The two meetings also endorsed Uhuru and Ruto as presidential aspirants in the coming election. Saitoti, who is also the Kajiado North MP, has invited leaders from the Maa community in Kajiado, Narok, Samburu, Baringo and Laikipia counties for a meeting tomorrow. “Invited guests will include Members of Parliament, civic leaders, religious leaders and officials of development committees and other opinion leaders,” said the invite.  The meeting will be held at Ole tepes Picnic Site on the Kiserian-Pipeline Road. On Tuesday, Ruto hosted a meeting of Kalenjin, Maasai, Turkana and Samburu communities in Eldoret as a follow meeting of the earlier Gema Limuru one was taking place in Nairobi
