Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua on Sunday said Kenyans were biased by offering prayers to the Ocampo Four and forgetting internally displaced families.
Mr Karua said though the suspects have a right to prayers, victims of post-election violence should be remembered too.
The Gichugu MP was reacting to remarks by Kiambu politician Kimani wa Matangi during a function at ACK St James Cathedral, asking the congregation to remember Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta in prayers due to criminal charges against him.
But Ms Karua said the displaced families need more attention.
“I am not saying it is bad to pray for the Ocampo Four, but we should remember that we have IDPs who also suffered and we should pray for them too so that justice can be done to both the suspects and the victims,” Ms Karua said.
Mr Kenyatta, Eldoret North MP William Ruto, former head of Public Service Francis Muthaura and radio presenter Joshua arap Sang’ face charges of crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.
Ms Karua reiterated that Mr Kenyatta and Mr Ruto were not legible to vie to political position because of the criminal charges against them, citing Chapter Six of the Constitution.
She told Kenyans to elect leaders based on their manifestos and not tribe or because one has offered cash handouts.
She added that she was still firm in the race to State House.
