Makadara MP Mike Sonko, no stranger to courts of law, may soon find himself in the corridors of justice once again. At least that is what our moles in the National Cohesion and Integration Commission are telling us. The NCIC considers the flamboyant MP may have breached the hate speech law during a recent visit to Meru. The commission is considering charging Sonko once they complete reviewing the evidence received.

A junior policeman in the Nairobi CBD got himself promoted when his boss — responsible for deployment and promotions — had an accident while driving the cop's car. It seems the boss, who has several official and personal vehicles at his disposal, opted to use his junior's car for some reason. The boss was involved in an accident which saw the vehicle written off. Unable to meet the cost of replacing the rather pricey vehicle, the boss opted to promote the junior cop. It seems the junior cop wields so much power that some of his seniors are afraid to cross his path as he enjoys the protection of the powers that be.

A well known politician who aspired for a big office has been forced to put his ambitions on hold. Reason? Elders from his village have threatened to go public and expose what they claim are his incestuous relations. Eldoret North MP William Ruto has not only been busy in the political arena. He is busy studying for his PhD just months after he got his master's degree. Ruto reportedly defended his PhD thesis proposal which will deal with environmental matters. He posted the progress of his studies on his Facebook page where he expressed gratitude to his supervisors. "I now have two and a half years to collect data, analyze, corroborate and present to the School of Biological and Physical Sciences. This will be very exciting to me as I carry out the study in Saiwa swamp in western Kenya, a wetland gazetted as a park because of the rare water antelope commonly known as sitatunga. Jameni tusome! (Let's study, fellows)".
