A television presenter's marriage may be in a trouble after word went round that she has been having a fling with a city businessman. The suspicious husband hired a team of private investigators who have since presented him with evidence of the very public encounters between his wife and the flamboyant businessman whom he suspects to be her lover. The latest encounter for which the husband got proof is when the couple were spotted together at a hotel in Nairobi’s Upper Hill area.

An ODM minister from Nyanza may soon find himself on the backbench if Prime Minister Raila Odinga bows to pressure from his advisers to appoint a Muslim to the Cabinet. While in Mombasa last week, the PM told residents that the ministerial position taken from Najib Balala will be returned to Coast. Our mole in ODM tells us that top party officials are pushing the PM to drop one Luo minister and give the position to Coast. Raila could have easily appointed a replacement of Henry Kosgey but has been advised the move will cause a major uproar and backlash from the remaining support of ODM in the Rift Valley.

Still in ODM, party officials were taken aback when some of its members were rejected by the Registrar of Political Parties as they were already registered as members of another party. The names rejected include a Coast MP, a Mombasa branch official, and a lawyer who contested an electoral post in Siaya in 2007 and who is said to have been registered as a member of Raphael Tuju's Party of Action.

Some projects funded by the CDF are set to be grounded after senior officers in public works registered themselves as partners or directors in construction firms. These firms have been "winning" lucrative tenders to carry out various projects even though many of them lack the capacity to carry out such projects. Ironically, some of these officers are the ones who are supposed to verify a project has been completed and authorise payment.
