Former Speaker Francis ole Kaparo is yet to get over debate moderation.
At a recent workshop of the United Republican Party, which is led by Mr William Ruto, Mr Kaparo, who was not even the session moderator, interrupted some loud murmurs with his famous “Order! Order!”
It was interesting to see the smile on the moderator as she asked Mr Kaparo to be orderly. Old habits die hard.

Temporary chairman
Mr Njoroge Baiya, the Githunguri Member of Parliament, is for all intents and purposes the chairman of the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee following the resignation of Budalang’i’s Ababu Namwamba.
Mr Baiya is officially still the vice-chairman, but ODM whip Jakoyo Midiwo can only recognise him as a “temporary chair.” Mr Ababu resigned from the committee after he was threatened with ouster by fellow committee members.

In favour of DCs
I know at least one MP who is happy with the Provincial Administration in his constituency.
The northern Kenya MP is happy with chiefs, their assistants, DOs and DCs.
To him, the provincial administrators have been the protectors of his community — a minority one at that — when cattle rustlers strike.
He is apprehensive that if the administrators are forced to report to the governor, his community will be on its own when raiders strike. Devolution is tricky business.

Collective suicide
When Adan Duale (Dujis) tells William Ruto (Eldoret North) not to worry about changes in the Constitution since MPs raised the 148 majority needed to extend the legislative deadline for land Bills, you just wonder.
In case Duale forgot, MPs extended the deadline just to survive being sued for sleeping on the job. When the motivation is not to avert collective suicide, will the numbers still be there?
