VP challenges churches to produce films

Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has challenged the Church in Africa to produce films that will transform the lives of people in the continent.
Musyoka said there was need to create films that will spread messages of peaceful coexistence between the different communities.
He made the remarks Saturday during the launch of ‘Walking with Jesus' film at Prestige Plaza, Ngong Road, Nairobi.
It is produced by The JESUS Film Project - a ministry Campus Crusade for Christ.
The Vice President commended the producers of the film, saying that Africa needs to claim her place in the world by making films that will influence other people in the globe.
The CEO Kenya Film Corporation (KFC), Peter Mutie disclosed that a survey carried out recently indicated that Kenya has the potential of generating 50 billion shillings through the film industry.
Mutie said that measures have been put in place to develop the industry.
He challenged the Church to produce more films and assured that KFC will give the necessary support.
Bishop Arthur Kitonga of Redeemed Gospel Church who spoke on behalf of other church leaders called on Kenyans to love and treat one another as brother and sister.
He urged church leaders in Africa to continue giving spiritual nourishment to the people of the continent.
Area Team Leader from Zimbabwe, Farai Katsande said that the church was spearheading all types of transformations, noting that they were better done by the church.

The launch was attended by Presidential Advisor on the Constitution, Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, delegates from United States led by Jim Greene and African countries among other dignitaries.
