A senior member of the Law Society of Kenya was shot dead in Kilimani.
Ms Rose Waruingi was in her house on George Padmore Road in Kilimani on Friday night when armed men stormed into her house and shot her around 9pm.
They did not harm her son and the other visitors who were in the house at the time of the incident.
Witnesses say they saw four men in the house, though they do not know how many others, if any, were outside.
Kilimani OCPD Bernard Muli said that after the men had shot her, they drove away in one of her cars.
The car, a Subaru Imprezza, was yesterday found abandoned along Desai Road in Ngara.
Mr Muli said Ms Waruingi died while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.
The Law Society of Kenya CEO Apollo Mboya termed the incident unfortunate, coming barely a month after another lawyer, Anthony Nahashon Ngunjiri, was shot dead on Thika road.
Mr Mboya also said that LSK members will meet to discuss the incident.
