President Kibaki on Wednesday witnessed the swearing in of Dr Wilfred Machage after he was reinstated as an Assistant Minister, a position he temporarily lost on accusations of hate speech.
Also sworn in was the acting Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet Mr Francis Kimemia, a move necessitated after Mr Francis Muthaura resigned from the office on the confirmation of charges of crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Dr Machage was reappointed Assistant Minister for Roads after he was cleared by the court of incitement and hate speech charges.
Speaking after the ceremony, President Kibaki congratulated them on assuming their assignments and wished them success in the new assignments.
The ceremony was attended by the acting Internal Security Permanent Secretary Mr Mutea Iringo and other senior government officials.
