Kikuyu MP Lewis Nguyai will Friday take to the stand at the International Criminal Court to defend Deputy Prime minister Uhuru Kenyatta over alleged crimes against humanity.
Nguyai is the second defense witness for the finance minister after the deputy PM historically testified in his own case for alleged crimes.
Uhuru who was cross examined Thursday by all parties denied any links to the outlawed Mungiki sect accused of carrying out retaliatory attacks in Naivasha and Nakuru in 2008.
Instead, he attempted to heap blame on Prime Minister Raila Odinga for rejecting the 2007 presidential results. Uhuru accused Raila of calling for mass protests which he claimed degenerated in to the post election violence.
He argued that since the PM was the aggrieved ODM leader, he should have taken political responsibility to stop the violence.
However, Uhuru told the pre-trial chamber judges that he did not have any evidence showing that Raila was criminally responsible for the violence.
