Makadara MP Gidion Mbuvi has dared his Narc Kenya party to follow up on its threat to expel him.
Mr Mbuvi, also known as Mike Sonko, declared he was not afraid of any of the party’s officials, including its leader, Gichugu MP Martha Karua.
He also announced that he would be seeking the party’s ticket in his presidential ambitions.
“I am under the party but I don’t fear anyone. I am not scared of being thrown out of the party to go back to the electorate because it is them that decide,” he said.
Mr Mbuvi pulled yet another stunt on Tuesday when he turned up in Parliament Buildings sporting fake dreadlocks and a hat, a tight white T-shirt and checked black and white skin-tight trousers.
He said the Standing Orders — rules and regulations governing Parliament — should be amended to allow freedom of dress in the same spirit as the proposed changes in the Judiciary.
“Even Rastafarians are Kenyans, I can dress the way I want, my dressing does not affect my work,” he said.
Orderlies barred the MP from the precincts of Parliament because of his attire, forcing him to hold a press conference outside Continental House.
“I have not received any official communication, neither have I received any calls or any form of warning from Ms Karua and she has my telephone number,” he said.
Declaring that even Ms Karua could not remove him, the MP said she would first have to “punish” herself for campaigning for New Ford Kenya candidate Boni Khalwale in Ikolomani.
Mr Mbuvi threatened to defect to the Unga Revolution Movement and seek the presidency on its ticket if Narc Kenya did not support his presidential bid.
In April, the party put Mr Mbuvi and Juja MP Wlliam Kabogo on notice after their repeated statements
