Share/Save/Bookmark Teddy Omondi, 27, wedded his gorgeous bride Sheila Kandie last Saturday at the Kisumu Beach Resort. Attended by about 500 guests, many from the rugby fraternity, the guests were treated to a fabulous reception at the same venue. The Sevens international player for the Kenyan team was described by Paul Okongo, his coach as the “most gifted individual player that I have been privileged to coach among the hundreds that have passed through Kisumu RFC over the years”.
Easily one of Kenya’s most gifted backs of recent times, the alumni of St Mary’s Yala School  is the son of Alfred and Wilkista Adongo of Nyakach, while Sheila is the daughter of Dr Paul and Mrs Ruth Kandie of Bartolimo, Baringo.
On the international sevens circuit, Teddy will never be forgotten by those privileged to have watched him when he single-handedly destroyed both Argentina and Australia at Twickenham, England, in the summer of 2006. After St Mary’s Yala, Teddy played locally for both Kisumu RFC, Kenya Harlequins RFC and Impala RFC, before moving to France, where he plays professionally in the French second division. The couple will live in France.
