Only 26 mps paying tax

Sunday night begins with an issue that has become the source of national debate.. Taxation of constitutional office holders. Tonight we focus on parliament. Despite all the lip service, the promises and a constitutional provision that requires taxation, parliament remains the bastion of resistance. KTN has established that only 26 out of a possible 221 members of parliament are paying taxes on their salaries and allowances. A Kenyan who earns 12,000 shillings pays tax, yet only 12 % of our members of parliament are willing to share the full tax burden with fellow Kenyans.
