ODM’s political games will fail, warns Magara

The move to revoke nominations of 34 councillors by the Orange Democratic Movement is a political game bound to fail, a former party treasurer has said.

Former South Mugirango MP Omingo Magara, who was at one time the party’s treasurer, said the move was dishonest and unfair, and likely to weaken the party. He could not understand why ODM rewarded non-members.
“In Tabaka, councillor Mary Kerubo’s nomination was revoked and instead Tom Ondara, a Kanu man was rewarded,” he said.
Mr Magara, while fundraising at the weekend, said ODM was illegally “cohabiting” with MPs like PDP’s Richard Onyonka.
He asked the Interim Independent Electoral Commission boss Issack Hassan not to be “party into this circus” to get a second term.
Kanu members Bafadhil Abdulrahman and Joshua Ondora asked ODM to stop harassing councillors.
