WE’RE ON OUR WAY. Kitengela township is one of the places earmarked for a National Bank branch before the end of the year, says corporate affairs manager Rebecca Gikuru, in response to Hezron Momanyi’s cry about having to go all the way to Nairobi to get services. Rebecca says the bank’s expansion programme for the next quarter includes Kitengela. “We are also working to ensure ourNpresence in all the new counties.”
She can be reached on Tel. 2828630, 2226471 or corporateaffairs@nationalbank.co.ke.

FRUSTRATED BY TELKOM. Following the vandalising of a cable in Malindi on January 5, subscriber Neuberger says the landline at his house has been out of order. He is disappointed to note that Telkom has never stopped sending monthly bills. But the worst shock was yet to come and it arrived on June 20 in the form of a reminder to settle his supposed outstanding bill, which was given as Sh9,007.43, accompanied by a threat of legal action.
“I have gone to their office seven times to complain, in vain,” says the subscriber, whose contact is neuberger@swiftmalindi.com.

STRATHMORE LOST IT THIS TIME. The quality and excellence that have often defined Strathmore University are not reflected in their just released, ‘CPA Financial Reporting’ study text’s second edition, says Stephen Kanini of Nairobi.
The book, which has been eagerly awaited, is “full of typos, incomplete questions and answers, bad formatting and numerous other mistakes”.
He adds: “How could they get even the table of contents wrong? As a lecturer at various universities, I can’t recommend this to my students!”

PAY THIS PENSION. Since his brother, a former civil servant based at the Hola DC’s office died in 2003 leaving his nephew under his care, Zephania Buya has tried in vain to get his terminal benefits paid. The little boy will be sitting his KCPE exam this year and will definitely need money for high school next year. Zephania has called at the Pensions Department several times, but he has not got the dues. His brother’s personal number was 89131294, and Zephania’s contact is zphnbuya@yahoo.com.
UNFULFILLED EXPECTATIONS . Pizza Inn/Galitos at Valley Arcade, Nairobi, has let F. Mohamed down several times, but the worst was on June 7 when she ordered pizzas at 5.34pm that were not delivered. She called them at 7.23 pm, but there was no response.
She then phoned the Muindu Mbingu branch to complain to the manager who was willing to take the order afresh but she was so upset she declined. “The pizzas I had ordered earlier were finally delivered at 7.45pm, but I sent them back! So much for the buy-one-get-one free!” says Mohamed.
Her contact is Tel. 0722791459.
Have a reliable day, won’t you.
