A Cabinet Minister with presidential ambitions is going round collecting money from prospective investors who want to open casinos in the city . He is reportedly telling those interested in investing in casinos that he will help them open up the rest of the country. The man has also reportedly threatened to kick out the head of a parastatal in his ministry because the man has shifted his political allegiance to a rival presidential hopeful.

Yet another lobby group of young people—United Democratic Forum— has been formed. The group, comprised mainly of young people including musicians and artistes from Nairobi and Central provinces want to present themselves like the YK2 that campaigned for Moi and Kanu in 1992. The aim of the forum is to engage with politicians who will pay them to rally other youth to their campaign rallies and meetings ahead of the elections.

2012 presidential hopeful Mutava Musyimi’s woes seem to be unending. Just two days after the VIPA party accused the Gachoka MP of trying to 'steal' its party symbol — a burning candle— the UDM which is expected to field Eldoret North MP William Ruto as its presidential candidate is now planning to challenge Mutava for using its party colour— yellow.

An ODM minister and MP from the Rift Valley push to have Nakuru Mayor John Kitilit's nomination as an ODM councillor flopped when the PM Raila Odinga reportedly intervened and stopped the revocation.  The minister is said to be eyeing the proposed Nakuru Town West seat which the mayor is also said to be eying. The Mayor wants to thwart the minister's plans allegedly because the latter comes from Baringo county and not Nakuru.
