Kibaki tells leaders to stop trading insults

By Daniel Nzia President Kibaki has told leaders to stop hurling insults against each other.
Kibaki said insults are of no positive consequence and instead urged leaders to work together in addressing issues facing Kenyans.
The Head of State was speaking at various centres in Rift Valley and Eastern where he officially opened the Sh4.2 billion Emali-Loitoktok road.
The President reiterated the Government’s commitment to development of roads, which is the main mode of transport in the country.

He was accompanied by Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, Cabinet Ministers Prof George Saitoti, Prof Sam Ongeri, Franklin Bett, several assistant ministers and MPs.

He said the Government is carrying out extensive road construction works aimed at improving the transport infrastructure.
The President added that the construction and rehabilitation of roads is expected to expand the trade and business opportunities.
He said the Government has invested billions of shillings to build and maintain the road network over the years, adding that disbursement of funds for rural roads development through the CDF has been increased from Sh19 million last year to Sh27 million this year. Kibaki acknowledged the support of World Bank, EU, ADB and China in roads construction.
