We are told of an incident that happened during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting. According to our moles, Prime Minister Raila Odinga pleaded for a “ceasefire” arguing that PNU ministers had turned against him in public and were personalising the issue of ICC prosecutions. To the astonishment of President Kibaki and the Cabinet, a PNU minister shouted at the PM, “you can go to hell”. The minister said it was Raila who started the public altercations.

The man has been forced to take a second mortgage to buy an apartment for his girlfriend who has refused to live in a rental house the MP was paying for. The man already has a mortgage for a house he is buying for his wife and family.

A PNU activist was denied a visa to The Hague on Tuesday evening after he indicated his reason for the visit was to "do research during the Ocampo Six summonses by the ICC pre-trial chamber." The man, whose air ticket had been paid for by some politicians, was the second last on the line of people queueing for the visa. Told his application was unsuccessful, the man was overheard saying the embassy had been influenced by Prime Minister Raila Odinga to deny him the visa!

Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny found himself in a tight spot yesterday at City Hall when a group of ODM councillors rebuked him for demeaning the stature of the Prime Minister. The angry councillors almost turned physical but Kuttuny stood his ground and turned their anger into laughter and cheers. In his humorous repartee, Kuttuny disarmed the angry councillors by telling them that he had to criticise Raila so that the councillors could defend the ODM leader and make him see that he has diehard supporters. The councillors finally cheered Kuttuny and happily shook his hand.
