PEV weapons surrendered in Nakuru prayer meeting

The ministry of Internal Security has joined hands with the Repentance and Holiness Church of Prophet Dr. Edward David Owour to preach peace and reconciliation in the regions which were worst hit by the post election violence.
Speaking during a Gospel crusade, Nakuru DC Kang'ethe Thuku said the government has recognized the efforts made by Prophet Owuor's Ministry in bringing peace and reconciliation among the warring communities especially in the Rift Valley.
During the crusade, guns and other crude weapons used during the post election violence were returned.
Speaking while he received the surrendered weapons, Nakuru police boss Johnston Ipara said crime has gone down since the surrender adding that the move has attracted investors in the town making the fastest growing town in East and central Africa.
On his side Prophet Owuor termed the surrender of weapons as fruits of true repentance. At the crusade, Prophet Owuor was presented with "Amani Award" from the government for campaigning for peace and reconciliation.
