Moi consoles family of late Kirima

By STEVE MKAWALE
Former President Moi has send a message of condolence to family of the late Gerrishon Kirima.
Moi described Kirima as a personal friend whom he participated with in various church functions.
He said despite his immense wealth Kirima remained calm and humble.
"The late Kirima is a true example of what hard work, focus and self-determination can attain," said Moi in a statement released by his press secretary Lee Njiru in Nakuru on the eve of the New Year’s Day.
"Kirima came to Nairobi as a young man in 1950s with almost nothing but with focus and determination he managed to build a massive financial empire and remained calm and humble," said Moi.
Kirima served as the mayor of Nairobi and then entered Parliament as the MP for Starehe.
Moi appointed him an assistant minister in his Government.
Moi told the family of the deceased to remain united and solve their differences amicably.
The former president advised members of the Kirima family not fight over his wealth.
