President Mwai Kibaki held talks with African Union Commission Chairman Mr Jean Ping who paid him a courtesy at the Harambee House Office, Wednesday afternoon.
During the talks, the AU Commission Chairman briefed President Kibaki on the up coming African Union Summit to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, later this month.
President Kibaki and the AU Commission Chairman also discussed the ongoing referendum exercise in Southern Sudan.
The two leaders wished the people of Sudan peace and prosperity regardless the outcome of the referendum.
President Kibaki currently chairs the IGAD group of heads of State on Sudan.
Kenya successfully brokered the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) that was signed in Kenya in the year 2005.
