Sirisia MP Moses Wetang’ula has spoken emotionally about his decision to step aside from his Foreign Affairs ministry job, blaming it on political rivals.

“I will move all the way to State House,” he said.He reiterated his ambition to vie for the presidency in 2012 despite the challenges he is facing.
Mr Wetang’ula told leaders, including councillors from Bungoma and Trans Nzoia County, who had gathered at his Bungoma home at the weekend that he was on “leave” and will be back soon.
He said the truth on the Kenyan embassy building in Japan, whose purchase led to his exit, will soon come out and Kenyans would know who was lying and who was saying the truth.
“Kenyans know my character and movement. I have always worked towards making the country move forward,” he said.
Emerge stronger
He warned his political rivals that he is going to emerge stronger since the time he is out of the government is helping him know the people he needs to work with.
Mr Wetang’ula said tribal politics and witch-hunting were to blame for his misfortunes.
“The blood of an innocent man can come back and haunt you forever,” the Sirisia MP told his rivals.
He said only a section of leaders from Bungoma County stood with him while the rest asked him to carry his own cross.
“They found me guilty even before I was tried,” he said. He urged leaders in the county to know the time when they should speak as a county and as individuals.
