Moi lauds Kibaki speech

Former President Moi has praised President Kibaki for his reconciliatory speech following the ‘Yes’ win in the referendum.

"The President’s speech was respectable as it reconciled the ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ teams," Moi stated.

He said Kibaki’s message paved the way for a unified approach in the implementation and functioning of the new constitution.

In a statement issued through his press secretary, Lee Njiru, Moi also thanked Kenyans for maintaining peace throughout the exercise.

Meanwhile, Moi has sent a message of condolence to the family, relatives and friends of the late Reuben Kigathi, a Nyandarua businessman, who died yesterday in a Nairobi hospital.

Kigathi was a Kanu official and also the chairman of the Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nyandarua branch.
