Referendum Countdown

Kenya's provincial administration is huge. Eight provinces, over two hundred and fifty districts and still counting. Not to forget over 16,000 personnel including Pc's, Dc's, do's and chiefs, clerks and support staff. But there have been questions on the fate of this powerful arm of government if the new constitution comes into force. Committee of expert's member Njoki Ndung'u says the provincial administration will be restructured to conform to the new government format that will also see the formation of counties as powerful administrative units. However, some members of the no camp disagree and have warned that the provincial administration will be no more if a new constitution is passed. Abdi Osman brings us an analysis of what the new constitution will mean for the provincial administration.
