Proposed Constitution on Judiciary


That Kenya's judicial system has failed to rise to the occasion in dispensing justice more often than not is not in doubt. It is the reason why the government, which can only function properly with an effective judiciary, has sought to undertake judicial reforms through the proposed new constitution. But while both sides of the political divide consider judicial reforms long overdue, there are mixed reactions when it comes down to implementation of those reforms. With just 24 days remaining before Kenyans go for the referendum poll, Sylvia Chebet puts this tenth chapter of the proposed constitution into perspective.
