NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 3 - Prime Minister Raila Odinga will be discharged from hospital on Sunday, his spokesman Dennis Onyango has said.
Mr Onyango on Saturday said doctors have indicated that the Premier will be leaving Nairobi Hospital after a six day admission following a minor head surgery.
"The Premier is expected to be released tomorrow (Sunday) for further recuperation at his home," he said in a statement.
Mr Odinga was admitted at the Hospital on Monday after complaining of a headache and fatigue. Doctors diagnosed that he had pressure outside his brain which needed to be drained.
"Prime Minister Raila Odinga spent his last day in hospital meeting a cross section of grassroots leaders to catch up with the on goings ahead of his discharge," said a statement from the Prime Minister Press Service.
Despite recommendation that the PM needs time to recuperate, dozens of visitors have streamed the hospital worrying doctors that he might not be able to recover peacefully at home when he is discharged.
"The Premier who appeared relaxed and jovial assured his visitors that it was a matter of time before he resumes his normal duties although doctors preferred that the he takes more rest after his release from the hospital," added the statement.
