It is now clear that the main thrust of this referendum has less to do with this referendum or contents of the proposed constitution... And despite their tacit denial about that, some politicians are hoping to get ahead of the rest, forging alliances that they hope will last them well into 2012. But politics is an uneven and often rough terrain and the elections are still 2 years away.
