Kibaki bids farewell to outgoing envoys

President Mwai Kibaki on Wednesday bade farewell to outgoing Tanzanian High Commissioner Ms. Nyasugara Kadege and outgoing Egyptian Ambassador Mr. Saher Hamza.

President Kibaki commended the Tanzanian High Commissioner for playing a role in the East African Community integration process that saw the expansion of the community from three to five member states with the entry of Rwanda and Burundi.

The president also noted that during the tenure of High Commissioner Kadege, the East African Community made significant progress including the launch of the East African Common Market Protocol last month.

The President wished the outgoing Tanzanian envoy success in her future endeavors.

On her part, Kadege hailed the Government and the people of Kenya for their support which made her stay in the country enjoyable and fruitful and expressed hopes that the same cooperation would be extended to her successor for improved relations between Kenya and Tanzania

And speaking while bidding farewell to the Egyptian Ambassador, President Kibaki hailed the technical cooperation existing between Kenya and Egypt.

The President noted that Kenya and Egypt have a Joint Ministerial Commission that has been working to promote bilateral cooperation in all fields of mutual interest between the two countries.

Mr. Hamza said he was happy that during his tour of duty he managed to bolster the bilateral cooperation between Kenya and Egypt.

He thanked President Kibaki, the Government and people of Kenya for according him the necessary support that enabled him to perform his duties effectively.
