My wife Ida and I hosted a delegation from the US Senate and Congress on Friday evening at our residence in Karen. The delegation of US lawmakers was led bx New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and included Senator Christopher Coons (Delaware), Senator Gary Peters (Michigan), Senator Tammy Baldwin (Wisconsin), Representative Susan Davis from California and Representative Kathleen Rice from New York. Also in the group was my good friend Amb Robert F Godec.
We discussed a wide range of issues including security in the Horn of Africa and possible areas of partnership between our two nations for the betterment of our people. This was a preliminary engagement ahead of the visit by President Barack Obama in July to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit being held in sub-saharan Africa for the first time.
