University of Nairobi Professor Shadrack Ojwang' on Sunday denied social media reports that his son was in the company of Fidel Odinga before he died.
Speaking to the Star on phone, Ojwang' said that despite the fact that Fidel and his son who died on the eve of the new year are cousins, they have never gone out together.
Ojwang' said that those peddling rumours on social media that Fidel and his son whom he declined to name were together are simply malicious people.
Social media was on Sunday awash with reports that Ojwang's late son was in the company of Fidel Odinga and that both had died on Sunday morning.
"The death of my son has nothing to do with Fidel Odinga. They don’t know each other properly. Those people have their political life. I have my private life. People should not mix the two," Prof Ojwang' said.
Ojwang' said that prior to his death, his son 43, never went out but was found dead in his house.
He said they had done a postmortem
