Corridors of Power

SATURDAY, MAY 4, 2013 - 00:00 -- BY POLITICAL DESK
A top senior civil servant with penchant for causing controversy wherever he goes has applied to be appointed a principal secretary. We are now told that the people he has rubbed the wrong way, including some of those who have fallen victim to one of the many cons attributed to him have vowed to stop him. On social media, the man has been blocking any of his critics from his Facebook page and 'unfriending' many others.

A policeman has made the life of motorists along Ralph Bunche road a living hell. The policeman, based at Kilimani police station, has mounted what is definitely an illegal 'toll' station. The policeman, who operates a kiosk at one end of the road connecting Ngong Road to Valley Road demands 'payment' from every motorist who dares making an illegal turn. In as much as the motorists are wrong, shouldn't they be charged and fined by the courts with the money used to bridge the growing budget deficit instead of filling the pockets of an individual cop? Bwana IG, when will this end?

Earlier in the week we told of a sassy TV presenter who has allegedly set her romantic sights on perceived wealthy politicians and businessmen. We are now told that another beautiful TV presenter has had to file a complaint with the police after the rival of one of her love interests created multiple Facebook accounts using her name in which she posted randy and explicit updates of her 'love' status.

An eminent politician who lost out in all the electoral positions he had aspired to during the March 4 elections reportedly turned down an offer to be nominated to Parliament. Instead, he passed on the offer to one of his girlfriends! The mzee could not imagine his eminent and all important-self rubbing shoulders with the fresh crop of MP newbies! He is now holding out for a plum parastatal appointment or a foreign posting.
