Corridors Of Power

A senior cop who used to be based at the police headquarters in Nairobi is finding it hard to operate in his new station in North Eastern. This is because when he was in Nairobi, he had a habit of transferring any officer with disciplinary issues to Garissa. With changes taking place at the police headquarters, the man recently found himself transferred to North Eastern where he is supposed to also be in charge of Garissa and supervise a bunch of officers he sent to the area as a punishment.

A former MP from Rift Valley who was defeated during the last elections is stopping at nothing to ensure he gets a job in the Jubilee government. The man unsuccessfully put a spirited fight to have his name in the list of the Cabinet Secretaries unveiled last week by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto. After missing the cabinet posts, the man is now seriously lobbying to secure a job as the head of any State parastatal.

A former MP from Rift Valley who had been given the onus of suggesting some Rift Valley cabinet secretary nominees for deputy President William Ruto surprised everyone when he shortlisted himself. The man was promptly asked to remove his name to his embarrassment. No word has come from the big man what role the former MP who lost to a young man will be given in the Jubilee government.

A CEO of a top city hospital that has been treating the moneyed in the society may have to change his management skills as some of the staff are suffering in the hands of one of the sisters who is in charge of one of the wards. Our mole who says that the sister has been mistreating staff especially those who are perceived to have voted otherwise in the just concluded elections. The sister does not stop at that. She has now adopted highhandedness, nepotism and favoritism on some staff members. We are told she forces the staff to work beyond the recommended time where those on the morning shift should end their sessions at 1pm but they are forced to work till 4pm.
