NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 23 – President Uhuru Kenyatta is due to unveil his Cabinet line up this afternoon.
A statement from the Presidential Press Service indicated that the Jubilee Cabinet would be announced at a press confrence at State House.
The line-up comes after the National Assembly approved 28 members to sit in the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments.
The committee will mainly be charged with the responsibility of vetting Cabinet Secretary nominees and Principal Secretaries to be named by the President.
The names were approved after Leader of the Majority Adan Duale tabled them in Parliament.
Members of Parliament have urged the committee members to exercise their duty diligently to ensure the President appoints Kenyans who meet the required qualification.
The Committee will be chaired by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi. Its members include Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso, Majority Leader Duale, his deputy Naomi Shaban, Minority Leader Francis Nyenze and his deputy Jakoyo Midiwo.
Others are Joseph Nkaissery, Moses Cheboi, Jackson Kiptanui, Katoo ole Metito, Jamleck Kamau, Amina Abdalla, Gideon Konchellah, Cecily Mbarire, Nelson Gaichuhie, Esther Murugi, Manson Nyamweya, Stephen Mule and Ken Obura.
