Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has said the Cord Coalition will ensure that the Jubilee government delivers on its promises to Kenyans.
He said the Coalition will perform its opposition role both in and outside Parliament in order to ensure that the government of the day worked for all Kenyans equally.
M Odinga said Cord had moved on and was more than willing to carry on with the duty given to them by the Constitution.
“We will push ahead to unite Kenyans and ensure the Constitution is fully implemented by those in power. We will also make sure devolution is realised,” he said on Sunday at the Kenya Technical Teachers College in Nairobi, where he attended a thanksgiving ceremony hosted by Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi.
The former PM, who lost his bid for the presidency in the March 4 election, also said he would continue to be active in politics.
“People are asking what will happen to me. I’m telling them I’m here. Raila is not dead. Raila is alive and stronger than ever,” Mr Odinga said.
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula said they had been robbed of victory, but the coalition will not break until “the aspirations of all Kenyans are realised.”
