
SAFINA party leader Paul Muite has asked President- elect Uhuru for a job.
Speaking yesterday at his party headquarters while conceding defeat, Muite said that he is willing to take a job especially the one that deals with the fight against impunity and corruption.
“I and Safina party will work with election victors to make Kenya an enviable democracy, based on principles of good governance, participatory, transparent and accountability this is what I can do if such a position is given to me,” he said.
Muite was among the seven presidential candidates who were contesting for presidency in the just concluded general elections. He emerged distant seventh garnering 12,588 votes.
He said that Uhuru’s government should give priority to the protection of human rights and fundamentals freedoms.
“I encourage Uhuru to form a clean, lean, accountable and responsible government, which will leave within its means, tighten government spending, reduce the gap between the rich and the poor and also not to permit the theft of public resources,” he said.
