Martha Karua
Former Narc-Kenya presidential candidate Martha Karua yesterday said Prime Minister Raila Odinga had made the right decision to challenge the election of deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta as the fourth president of Kenya.
Addressing the press at the Narc-K secretariat in Lavingon, Nairobi Karua said unlike the 2007 general election where his party resorted to mass action, Cord has chosen to take the direction prescribed by the law.
"If Raila feels that the issues he is raising are genuine, then he should do so without intimidation. Some Kenyans have a tendency of calling others names when one wants to exercise his/her democratic right," she said.
Karua conceded defeat and congratulated Uhuru and his running mate William Ruto for wining last Monday's polls.
"Kenyans have spoken and we respect their decision. We had pledged to abide by the results of the IEBC and hereby keep that promise to Kenyans," she said.
