RAILA ODINGA changes his manifesto on LAND and DIGITAL records ….. after UHURU/RUTO said so!!

Wednesday February 6, 2013 - Prime Minister Raila Odinga has dropped his earlier idea of taxing idle land when he becomes the fourth President of Kenya on March 5th.

In his manifesto released in December last year, Raila said he will tax all idle land but he has reversed his earlier pledge and taken a cautionary approach.

The clause on taxing idle land has been used by Raila’s rivals stating that a Raila-led government will take away land from its rightful owners.

This forced Raila, who is Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD) Presidential flag bearer, to clarify that the proposed tax was restricted to public utility land leased to individuals for commercial purposes.

The ODM manifesto was also mutilated on Monday to accommodate digitalization of all land records after Jubilee announced their manifesto on Sunday.

Raila said CORD’s manifesto will undergo several mutilations as they near the March 4th poll.
