Monday, the 25th of February 2013 -President Mwai Kibaki today officially endorsed Mugambi Gichuki to be his successor for the Othaya Parliamentary seat.
Kibaki at the same time made a stinging attack at Mugambi’s opponents for the seat, chief among whom is TNA’s Mary Wambui. The President urged the people of Othaya to pick Mugambi over his opponents saying they lack the ‘education to articulate issues’.
This is bound to make Wambui and her supporters even angrier than they were two weeks back when they were prevented from taking part in a function in Othaya that Kibaki was addressing.
It is understood that Wambui has listed herself on the ballot as ‘Mary Wambui Munene Mwai’ an obvious reference to the rumours that she is Kibaki’s ‘unofficial’ second wife.
