Elect Jubilee at your own peril, Karua tells Kenyans

Narc Kenya presidential candidate Martha Karua has cautioned Kenyans against electing the Jubilee coalition in the March 4 General Election. Jubilee's presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta and his running mate William Ruto are facing crimes against humanity charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and yet they are seeking leadership, said Ms Karua. "In the event they are elected into office, the ICC will be in need of these two suspects and our country is not someone’s kiosk that can be opened and closed at will to allow one to attend to other responsibilities,” said Ms Karua in Elgeyo Marakwet County Tuesday. Ms Karua said the constitution is very clear that if the president is out of the country, the deputy president will be in charge. She said this would not be possible since Mr Kenyatta and Mr Ruto will be required to attend trial at The Hague in person.
