Cord on Tuesday took its campaigns to Migori County with assurances to the voters that the alliance could be trusted with leadership.
The alliance also hit out at its rivals in the Jubilee Coalition, claiming that their reform credentials were wanting.
Led by its presidential candidate Raila Odinga and running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, the team said the country could not be led by people with cases in court.
This was in reference to Jubilee leaders Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto who are facing crimes against humanity charges at the International Criminal Court.
“Those with cases in court cannot be charged with the country’s leadership, it is simply impossible”, Prime Minister Raila Odinga said.
At Isebania, the PM said bad leadership and tribalism were to blame for the country’s woes.
He said that if elected, he would end tribalism and fulfil the dreams of Kenya’s forefathers.
“Our forefathers had a great vision for this country but that has not been possible. We will implement that dream as Cord”, Mr Odinga said.
The PM also criticised the Communications Commission of Kenya for shutting down broadcast transmitters belonging to Royal Media Services.
For the second day, Mr Odinga steered clear of the controversial ODM nominations with Migori County being one of the affected areas.
Mr Musyoka told the crowd that a Jubilee alliance win would put the country in an awkward position with the international community.
“Do not gamble with your vote. Do not vote for them because of the charges they face”, the VP added.
He said electing Uhuru and Ruto would put the country at risk of international sanctions.
Mr Musyoka wanted Kenyans to be allowed to talk about land issues as it was an important national issue.
He said the Cord team would respect land owners with title deed and protect their “sanctity”.
He challenged Cord affiliate parties not to allow their differences ruin Mr Odinga’s presidential ambitions.
“Do not allow the differences to hamper our quest for presidency, the VP added.
Trade assistant minister Wilfred Machage said he would campaign for ODM candidates in the county so as to give the PM numbers when he ascends to power.
