Citizen TV LOSES 400,000 viewers as K24 DOUBLES in January

Monday February 11, 2013 - According to an independent survey done by an Independent Media consulting firm, Citizen Television lost about 400,000 viewers last month.

According to the report which will be made to public soon, Citizen’s rival K24 Television doubled its viewers in the month of January.

The firm’s Head of Research said the reason for the decrease in numbers of viewership in Citizen TV, is due to taking sides in the ongoing Presidential campaigns.

He said Citizen TV was enjoying mass viewers from Mt Kenya region who have now moved to K24.

Citizen TV’s owner SK Macharia, last year endorsed Prime Minister Raila Odinga for Presidency, a thing which was not welcomed by a number of Uhuru Kenyatta’s supporters.

K24 is associated with Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta who is the Jubilee coalition Presidential flag bearer.

The report will be out in a week’s time.
