Kenyan stars launch peace campaign

SATURDAY, JANUARY 12, 2013 - 00:00 -- BY GRACE KERONGO
Several Kenyan artistes united to launch a campaign dubbed Amanisha. It aims to advocate for peaceful coexistence among Kenyans of different tribes, races and religion. The initiative is a collaboration between  NiElect and over 40 Kenyan performing artistes who will act as peace ambassadors. The tagline for their Amanisha campaign is 'Amua Amani, Linda Amani, Changia Amani.'
The campaign targets the 18–35 age group, which is highly vulnerable due to disempowerment, but remains hopeful, determined and futuristic (tech savvy).
The Initiative was launched at the 7th August Memorial park. The committee members include Eric Wanaina, Ben Githae, Eco dyda, Octopizzo, Ambasada, Danford brothers, Ian Mbugua, Nathan Kimani (JB) , Ali- B, MC Dyce, Eyearno, Col Mustafa, Kenzo, Trapee, Jaguar, Caro Wanjiru, Suzzana Owiyo, Lady Maureen, Grace Muna, Masala, Achieng Abura, Avril, Marya, Nariki, Kendi and Size 8.
