This man was not at TERRORIST …… the POLICE were WRONG

Monday, the 22nd of October 2012 - In a bizarre incident the police have now said that the man who earlier today surrendered himself after his name was mentioned among the four terror suspects plotting attacks in Kenya is not the terror suspect they were looking for even though he has the ‘right’ name and face as the suspect.

The man Hassan Owiti surrendered himself at the Coast Provincial Headquarters this morning after he saw his name among the people being sought by the police.

Police spokesman Eric Kiraithe confirmed that the confusion had been cleared up;

“He is not the one. He has been interrogated and will be released,” Kiraithe said.

Speaking to journalists some hours later Owiti said that he was ‘innocent’ of any suspicion;

“I am innocent; I think it is a case of mistaken identity and that is why I came here to see why they want me,” he said before he was quizzed and subsequently ferried to Nairobi for further interrogation.

The other names on the wanted list are Shaban Namusenda Makotse, Yassin Olunga Ndungu and Ali Masadiq.
