So then who conspired to beat HARUN MWAU “the boss”

Tuesday October 9,2012 - Kilome MP Harun Mwau is known to be flamboyant, popular and an astute politician who has dominated Kamba politics for over a quarter a century, but on Saturday he escaped death by a whisker after an irate mob descended on him in a rally in Makueni.

The MP was attacked and flashed out of a rally by youthful politician Mwengi Mutuse who is Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s ally vying for Kibwezi West Parliamentary seat in the next year’s general election.

Addressing journalists in Nairobi on Tuesday, Mwau denied suggestions that he had gate crashed the meeting and accused Mr Mutuse for betrayal.

Before he flew to the meeting, Mwau attended a meeting at Kari Mailu School whose headmaster Mr Kimenzu Mutuse, is the aspirants’ brother.

At the meeting, another Mutuse Kin, John, announced plans to challenge his young brother for the Kibwezi West Parliamentary seat.

“What is puzzling me is I spent Saturday attending separate meetings involving three brothers, all from Mutuse family,”Mwau said.

Mwau said he did not plan to attend the rally, but one of his aides, a friend of Mr Mutuse convinced him to do so.

But Mr Mutuse said he was not involved in Mwau’s beating and he would meet him to clear the air.
