Weekend presidential campaign stops

Presidential aspirants are this weekend expected to share a platform in Keiyo during the burial of former assistant minister Elijah Sumbeiywo   in Keiyo North on Saturday.
Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka, Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto are scheduled to attend.
Kalonzo is today taking his campaigns to Meru and will be in Keiyo tomorrow for the burial. “On Sunday, the VP will attend a church service at Agorino Church in Nairobi in the morning before going to his rural home in Tseikuru, Kitui County, for the memorial service for his late mother Malia Musyoka,” said his spokesman Kaplich Barsito.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has gone to the US to represent the country in a United Nations function and meet Kenyans in the Diaspora. His spokesman Kibisu Kabatesi said the DPM would be away until October 3.
Constitutional Affairs minister Eugene Wamalwa will be touring Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties as part of campaigns he kicked off in the western region last week.
Wamalwa told The Standard that he would be holding rallies and meet-the-people tours today in Kitale, Githuamba, Saboti, Wehonia and Kiminini. “On Saturday, I will hold a meeting with leaders in Cheranganyi Constituency while on Sunday I will be holding rallies in Endebes and Kwanza constituencies,” he said.
Narc-Kenya’s Martha Karua will today be in Tharaka Nithi County. She  will at the weekend be in Nairobi for  activities, which include celebrating her 55th birthday on Saturday.
Former Cabinet minister Raphael Tuju of the Party of Action has travelled to the US for four days for fundraising events and to meet Kenyans in the Diaspora.
Prof James ole Kiyiapi is today touring Kisii, Nyamira and Transmara where he has been holding court with opinion leaders.
